The throttle hang issue with these cars is that it "hangs" for a couple seconds between shifts , not that it revs up . It's a simple , easy & cheap fix , so I'd do it anyway  . If you're looking for a fuel additive to throw in the tank , I believe the one you want is "Techron" . It comes in a black bottle , IIRC .
