FYI; Older Contours that had 2 keys used one for the ignition and the doors and the other was for the trunk and glove box.

The dealer I got my 96GL from only gave me the ignition/door key, so I got a 98+ trunk cylinder from a u-pull-it junk yard for $5, rekeyed for $15. $20 and I could now open my trunk from the outside!

I just ignored the fact that I couldn't lock the glovebox.
