What destroyed? Boost is boost. If anything a turbo is better since, a properly sized turbo makes it's boost in the low rpms where the stresses on the rods are less. Superchargers don't make full boost till the upper rpms where the stresses on the rods are much worse.

Here's the 3 main things. Proper tuning, proper maintenence, and proper driving. And even with just proper tuning and maintenence, it can wistand some hard driving. There's a guy on the Focaljet with a turbo'd focus doing 9psi non-intercooled and he does a lot of track days and the car's fine.

The Zetec is actually prettty sturdy, but the SVTF's higher compression makes it harder to get more power out of it even though it's flow is pretty good. The problem with the SVTF is it had more HP but it also had more weight so it was only slightly faster. The stock Focus chasiss is already real good so just add the SVTF suspension which goes for around $300 for the set, and turbo it and it's good to go.

Wanting to add a SVTF engine isn't worth it unless you can get a whole engine and wiring harness and ecu for $1000 or less. Otherwise it ain't worth it.
