Boost is boost.
And a supercharger is way better on the engine.. had hector put a turbo in his Zetec ATX Tour.. yes, he would have had more power, but probably desroyed his engine well before the miles it actually has on it... What is your Zetec at now hector? 145K?

The thing is SVT doesn't like Turbos. If it were to have FI it would have been with a supercharger. Period. I still congratulate SVT on attempting to create NA performance for once...

Thanks...I tell people time and time again. I have over 138k stock engine, stock trans with the addition of a trans cooler and that is IT!!! It outlasted just about every or any other Tour that has been modified. Can't argue with results.

Are you using a T28 or a GT28 dual ball bearing? I wanted to go GT28 but couldn't justify 3x the cost of my T3 Super60.
Unless I can cough up some cash quick, it looks like my turbo project may be put on hold until spring.
You've gotta post some pics when you're done! BTW, what did you do for a header?

Right off the site, as for the headers I am going to use the ZX tuners and mod those for the turbo or head on down to my buddies at True Blue Performance, the reason I posted about them before is the owner is a family friend. So if all else fails drop the car off there and let them have at it. But this weekend I have to finish the atx to mtx swap
Also for a boost controller how about this one?
Here
Finally, BP how are you doing on your project over all last time you posted looked pretty much done correct?

What destroyed? Boost is boost. If anything a turbo is better since, a properly sized turbo makes it's boost in the low rpms where the stresses on the rods are less. Superchargers don't make full boost till the upper rpms where the stresses on the rods are much worse.
Here's the 3 main things. Proper tuning, proper maintenence, and proper driving. And even with just proper tuning and maintenence, it can wistand some hard driving. There's a guy on the Focaljet with a turbo'd focus doing 9psi non-intercooled and he does a lot of track days and the car's fine.
The Zetec is actually prettty sturdy, but the SVTF's higher compression makes it harder to get more power out of it even though it's flow is pretty good. The problem with the SVTF is it had more HP but it also had more weight so it was only slightly faster. The stock Focus chasiss is already real good so just add the SVTF suspension which goes for around $300 for the set, and turbo it and it's good to go.
Wanting to add a SVTF engine isn't worth it unless you can get a whole engine and wiring harness and ecu for $1000 or less. Otherwise it ain't worth it.
