The member is Stazi... Bendix brake kits, and a few front driver's hubs(w/bearings) at the moment.

The growling could in fact be a wheel bearing.

Raise the front of the car (one side at a time) and try to "tilt" the wheel (like tilt steering.. up/down). If the wheel tilts or has any movement/slop in it, its a bad bearing. Do this on both sides, and determine the status of both bearings at once (note: a bad bearing CAN make noise without being loose.. for a while... eventually it will either get MUCH noisier, or get loose, or both..)

Replace by pulling the hub and replacing with a new hub (bearing pre-pressed in it!! yay.. no labor charge) for 15x.00 from Tousley Ford (plus 6.00 shipping) or by removing the hub, and buying a new bearing (60.00) and taking it to a shop and having them use a hydraulic press to press the old one out and the new one in.

don't re-use your AXLE NUT (aka locking spindle nut) as it is a ONE TIME USE ONLY nut, and will cause premature bearing/hub damage (failure) if you re-use it. torque the NEW axle nut to 208-214FOOT pounds.

If its your driver's side, then you are in luck, as they are $50 from Stazi for now, and you can swap them in 40 minutes.
