I always wear a helmet at the track, regardless of speed. The reason? I once saw an unsuspecting SHO driver nearly get a 13 second F-body for a hood ornament. The T/A launched too hard, took it side ways off the line but stayed in it, over corrected to the right, then to the left, crossed over into the path of the SHO briefly then overcorrected a 3rd time and plugged the wall.
You never know what the other driver will do. Since then I always wear a helmet at the track.
