What he means is, the rear decklid is a "part" welded to the chassis. You are likly to not get a good positive ground. Similar, if you will, to runnning your ground to the actual external antennae. True, it's connected to the body, and it will ground, but it's not the most efficient.

Well if you had an SVT the power antenna mount is perfect. Also self tappers are not the best route, effective and quick. But a nut, bolt and lock washer are hard to beat. Almost every car as a lip on the inner fenderwell you can mount to.

This is what I did, though I won't say that it's the best place/method. It never gave me problems for the 2 1/2 years I had that setup. Unfortunately I just found out last night that the buttpirates that stole my system somehow managed to wreck the terminal.
