We've had TWO large hurricanes this year, and we're technically later into hurricane season.
Actually, "TWO" large hurricanes in a year is a Lot. Only once before in recorded history have 2 Cat.4+ hit the US in a single year. There's never been more than 3 Cat4 hits in a 10 year period and only 15 Cat4 hits in the past 100 years.
But wanna know the weird thing? The only other time that two Category 4+ storms hit the US in the same year was in 1915 -- one hit New Orleans, one hit Galveston.
