Yeah my parents were going to leave and go stay with my grandmother in Austin. But they said if they left now they would probably run out of gas and be stuck on the freeway. I am glad to see it is going east, only bad thing is that Louisiana is there and they are the last ones that need another devastating hurricane. -tropictour

just curious
They are all along the same highway, 281, aren't they?
I guess it depends on what you want to do while evac'd. If you wanna shop, go to San Marcus and the outlets, if you wanna be in a quiet place, go to New Braunfels, and if you want clubs and stuff to do, go to SA.

Well.. Off of I35, not 281.. but still.
281N houses Bulverde, Spring Branch, Blanco(yay yay, hometown!) and Johnson City)
46 cross 281 and you can take 46 either way to New Braunfels(east), or Boerne (west).

M-kay...current email circulating:
Things I have learned from watching the news on TV during the last eight days:
The hurricane only hits black peoples property. New Orleans was devastated and no other city was affected by the hurricane. Mississippi is reported to have a tree blown down. New Orleans has no white people. The hurricane blew a limb off a tree in the yard of an Alabama resident. When you are hungry after a hurricane, steal a big screen TV. The hurricane did 23 bilion dollars in improvements to New Orleans. Now the city is on welfare, looters and gang free and they are in your city. White folks don't make good news stories. Don't give thanks to the thousands that came to rescue you, instead [censored] because the gov't hasn't given you a debit card yet. Only black family members got separated in the hurricane rescue efforts. Ignore warnings to evacuate and white folks will come get you and give you money for being stupid.

Bah yeah, 35 not 281. Man, that's horrible, I've been away from SA for 2 years and I'm already forgetting the highways. Guess its about time to move back... Well, after hurricane season and before the MI winter. E1

I certainly hope that this is in the spirit of the circulating joke... and not serious.
Many towns in Mississippi were completely leveled, and are no longer in existance. they just weren't the large city like NOLA so it isn't getting the news coverage.
