u guys are nutz! I've decided to stick it out UNLESS they evacuate Houston, which will make it too damn late ANYWAYS since everyone and their mother will leave. . .oh well, I fought people off for water last night, I have about 5-7 gallons in the house right now . . .two cans of peanut butter, 3 loaves of bread, and about 24 cans of tuna. . .that's all I could get my hands on. . .I'm turning up the dials on my freezer and fridge friday, so everything will stay cool for about 4 days. . .I don't have too much stuff too spoil, so I'm okay there. . .I'm on the second floor, so I should be reltively safe. . .i'm just worried about toilet flushing and all that stuff, I mean, the tuna and peanut butter gotta come out eventually right??
I'll fill up the tub on Friday for sure. . .I'll take a shower as well. . .what else can be done??

What good are two butch lesbians going to be against a hurricane?
LOL! True, they do seem to have laid down on the job ever since they were placed.
I was wondering that myself... You wouldn't catch my ass there.

Typically, I'll stay if the winds in my area will be Cat 2 or less. Anything stronger than that & I am GONE!!
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

My parents have decided that they are too old (74 & 73) to ride out another hurricane in Houston and are coming to New Braunfels for a few days. All the hotels are already booked from Austin to San Antonio, but I was able to pull a couple strings and find them a room.

Nuts. This sucker hit Cat 4 and it's probably well on it's way to stewing up to be a Cat 5, given the water temp in the Gulf.
I'll be leaving for San Antonio tonight; lots of prep work to do. Rugs have to be rolled up and stashed upstairs, windows shuttered, plants moved...
...house ownership just plain sucks sometimes.

I remember when Alisha hit Galveston as a Cat 3 in 1983 and downtown Houston still got 80 mph winds. This one is gonna be a mofo! My nephew has just got the orders to evacuate Pearland and my brother's inlaws are evacuating Clearlake.

Just look forward to all the cash you're going to get from the government and charities.

Sounds like it could simmer down to a lowly Cat 3. You guys in TX seriously need to . I'm sick of these hurricanes. It effects everyone. Yea global warming doesn't exist. God if we could get 3rd world countries to stop industrial polution. Not that we're innocent. Far from it but most have no restrictions. I'm glad I wasn't born 100 years from now. A spit in the bucket in the age of our planet. It's going to hell in hand basket.
