Originally posted by Number47: i just say another thing, your....our ebrakes are run off a drum system that is inside the rotor check that stuff and make sure it all ok and sjust right
it looks more like a spring coil and a cable, with some kinda device that conects to the calipers and it seems to work i eleveated the wheels spun the rotors and had teh wife pull the e-brake slowley and they moved right i cleaned em up nice, because they had alot of road grime built up on them. but they apear to be working fine...
NOW, i have noticed that the brakes seem to be getting better. i notice the clunking noise VERY seldom now. and its magnitude has diminished considerably. i wonder if the rotors were just not machined right when they were made...
i will take everything off tonight and take it to a friend who is a machinist and see if he can put the "Ground Blanch" pattern into the rotors, to check and see if that was the problem... i was a little skepticle about that when i was first told about it.
i also checked the caliper slide pins last night, took a good long look at them, they slid with relative little pressure when the caliper was hinged away from the rotor without the pads in there... soooo i assume that they are ok.
i will post once i figure anything else out.
thanks guys
