Is a "Crankshaft Position Sensor" the same thing as a "Crankshaft Trigger Sensor"?

Not entirely sure it answers the question I asked, but I believe it does answer what was my ultimate question -- whether or not I get a square wave signal from a crankshaft position sensor or not.

And it appears that I do.

Thanks

I was going to say one sound passive, aka the sensor and the other is active, meaning the trigger sensor

either way they are both sensing the movement of the cam so in that respect they are the same. But by the name they are completely different

the type of singal makes sense as to why they are different
