So, I'm pulling my hybrid 3L apart to get a few things powder coated. When I get the timing cover off, I notice the guide opposite the tensioner for the rear (right) head has been rubbing just a bit on the timing wheel for the crank sensor. So when I push on it just a bit, I notice it's moving a bit. Then I notice this
Now, I never did hear any ticking or anything and the guide doesn't have much of a witness mark on it so I'm guessing it just recently broke on me. So I guess I'm wondering....what could cause this. And I know it wasn't that I torqued the bolts too tight b/c I used a torque wrench from my work (calibrated annually). Maybe too high oil pressure? I did notice that in the dead of winter, when I started it, I'd get about 100 PSI but that shouldn't be too much, should it?
Thanks,
Dale
