...once AGAIN i did not flash with a chip in the car...its impossible, you cant even read mil codes w/the xcal2 if you have a chip in the car...so tuning is abst out of the question, what i did was unplug it from the computer while i was downloading the datalogging and other programs at work....i did use my chip when the car was xcal2 flashed though, so if anything would have been damaged it would've been my pcm or the chip..anyways back on topic

Yes, but in Wayne defense, ADC's customer service was actually WORSE than Wayne's in my endeavor. I called, left voicemails, emails, PM's, etc for Shawn, and he never got back to me. I was ready to give him a credit card # and get the Xcal2 out to me that day, but the sale didn't seem important enough to them. I looked around for an alternate sollution, and remember talking to Brent @ Brenspeed back during Spring Zing 05. He made an awesome offer on Xcal2's, but I just didn't have enough time to round up 15 people for a group buy. So I gave him another call, and he was more than happy to help me out. His tunes speak for themselves, as I've posted dyno graphs of his "through the mail" tunes..

Shawn at ADC is great so is Keith. They were both very helpful and answered all my noob question with lots of patience. There was a small delay in shipping cuase his granny got sick and he took a day off. Other places would have told me to wait, but Shawn was such a nice guy and knew I needed the tuner so he overnighted it to me no extra charge. I will admit that they can be a little tough to reach, but if you keep calling back they will defentelytake the time to talk to you and answer your questions.

I'm wondering whether it would be best to buy an Xcalibrator and make changes on my own or take it to a shop that has a dyno? I'm kind of leaning towards the dyno for multiple reason.

It depends on you personally... If you know what you are doing, you can do a fine job with an Xcal. The advantage of going to a dyno and having them tune it is they can monitor the air:fuel ratio with a good wideband O2 to get the program more accurate.

I personally would love an Xcal, it'd be fun to play around with...

You really can't do your own tuning with just an Xcal. You need to Pro Racer Package to take full effect of every tuning aspect. Even if you download the software from SCTflash.com, you only have the ability to advance/retard timing by 2 degrees, and maybe 10%(if that) on your A/F. That program doesn't even give the capability to change injector sizes.

Went with Wayne and he gets a thumbs up from me.. Sends tunes within an hour of requesting a new one. Works with you to find the best tune for your car. Tested several different ones and decided on the best one.

Even my gas milage when up on my move from Cleve to Chi. I got 29 mpg on a 95 degree day..

Wayne asnwers emails nice and promptly as well..

Wayne is a good guy. He did go through some hard times and I had a good talk with him this weekend. I think he has that stuff straightened out and that it should be dropped.

I remember people giving slack to the guy at SP Motorsports despite bigger issues. Also more slack to Marty at MSDS, hell some people swear by SHOShop but I'll never use them fuggs again!!!! (mad thinking about them )

Just my 2 cents on that subject but not pressuring one way or another. Just taking the moral high ground here and saying 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone'

Nevermind, I found your thread about buying the Pro Package + XCal2 through Brenspeed. Disregard the previous post.
