what do u mean suspended for hid's. aren't the kits that are available legal, like on audi's and acura's

I got pulled over in MI so I took my freinds SVT, same color as mine but without tints and switched the liscense plates, then took it to the courthouse and they waved the ticket since it appeared as though I took off the tint......GENIOUS

If the car did not come from the factory with HID's they are illegal.

That's not a bad idea I like that a lot. Luckily I've never gotten pulled over for my mirror tint yet and I've had mine on for almost 2 years. I recently got pulled over for speeding( didn't get a ticket) and the cop asked if they were legal. I told him that I've never gotten a complaint and he didn't say anymore about them. I guess also having a Federal Agent and State Trooper sticker on my car helps out also

Don't know if all LEO's have them but I saw on "cops" once where a trooper had a little u-shaped gadget that he sat on top of your side window after rolling it down a little. One side of the u had an emiiter, the other a receiver. I guess by the receiver gave a readout proportionate to the tint of the car. I don't remember exactly, it was a few years ago. I don't know how they would measure front and rear windows though.
