i bought my car used w/ tint on it. i was likely 35% all around. i got caught in a night safety check and got a warning for the tint. the dmv tested it w/ their meter and it read 31-32%. he said it has to be 35% visible. i stripped the tint and had them sign off the warning. when i went to get retinted the guy told me that the factory windows have a super light tint. check the corner of your window...solar tint. this was enough to make my 35% tint darker and fail. so i retinted(see my sig) and carry the invoice w/ %breakdowns to show any cop. the cop that gave me the warning wasn't buying the its stock thing. i was trying to explain the its a special edition model car. be careful. if it wasn't a multi-cop stop check, i don't think a cop would've pulled me over.
...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.
