I bought one of those verge mp3 cd changers for my 98 csvt with a factory cd player. When I hook it up everything works except I get no sound, big problem. Anyone have any experience with these things, all I can find on the internet is that these changers are pieces of crap, no troubleshooting tips or anything.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanx

yeah, it plugs into the antenna jack in the back of the cd player then the antenna cable plugs into the fm modulator, you then tune into the appropriate frequency, ive tried everything I can think of and I get no sound, the radio cuts off when I have everything plugged in, just wondering if maybe it has somethinmg to do with the ford cd player, I doubt it, thats what I get for trying to save a buck.

i'm starting to think it has more to do with the ford cd player than the changer, when i unplug the antenna from the stereo and into the modulator, and the modulator into the cd player i lose sound, the radio tunes to the appropriate station, but I can't hear anything. If I change the preset on the modulator to the other frequency the radio tunes to that station.

how do you powered the FM modulator ? do your think work with batttery or the 12v plug or you have 2 wire to plug (usualy red n black for ignition and ground) ??

If its the wire thing verify that the harness is connected properly. the black wire should be connected with the black wire of your ford factory radio gray harness (skin the wired just before the harness to dont have to cut nothing) and the red one should go with the blue with black stripe (ignition)

Ya i didn't notice FM in the title.
I'd check all the connections and wires if the station cuts out when you tune to it.

if there no sound at all when you choose the RF station that mean that your radio tuning in the RF modulator.. the problem seem to be that the CD signal is not transmit into the RF MOD.

problem solved, i had it wired into the oem cd player directly. I wired it to a 12v lighter adapter and it works flawlessly.
