One mechanic to another... get a 2000 SVT i'm not just saying it because i have one. they got most of the bugs worked out by 2000 i have seen more 98 and 99 then 00. i have noticed though reguardless of which one you get, if it was ran hard and abused you'll or someone will have to replace the engine due to a droped valve and or a thrown rod. i know i had to replace mine and countless others. also i noticed with the Duratec whines and mones in the winter/cold. as for putting AWD it wouldnt be as tough as people would make it out to be. mainly it depends on the engine and trany set up. the 2.5 is a FWD engine reason being there are pulleys on both sides. i dont know enough about the x-type engine and tranny set up to say it can of cant be done. if the AWD is setup off a transaxle setup then it can be done. example my other car a 92 Mitsu. 3000GT comes with 2 options FWD Naturally Asp. or AWD TT. they used the FWD mounting but they added (with a differnt trany but same mounting) an AWD trany. i can as a couple fellows how its set up but the most you have to do is suspension mods. wow thats a lot isnt it
