I'm new here...been an admirer of the CSVT for quite a while, and a lurker for the last couple days.
I am a car nut first and foremost, and I really like to fab what I'm capable of doing myself and really trying stuff I'm not capable of either (with supervision of course).
I'm considering getting a CSVT or some variation of the Mondeo platform soon, but I would really like to learn before I drop coin on something new.
I know the Contour is FWD, and the Jag X-Type is (or can be) AWD. I used the search feature and turned up a couple posts about swapping it--and how it won't work or at least work without major headaches.
I checked out the X-Type b/c I'm interested in AWD even though I don't necessarily have the money or the need for it.
With that said, what differences are there besides cosmetic and suspension tuning between the Jag and the CSVT?
I've already found the SHO site and ADC as well...and I'm not sure if I would want all motor power or if boosted is the drug of choice due to a tight engine space.
Besides the normal n00b stuff, is there anything I should look for in particular BEFORE I make the purchase? Oh and I don't know if it makes a difference, but I prefer rowing the gears to a slushbox any day of the week.:D
