I know of the shortened shifter mod for ATXs, but I'm curious if anyone has ever cut down the bottom part of the stock shift knob.

I think Dan's after the Aesthetic side of the mod. I agree, the stock one sits very high. Ever seen a Jetta ATX shifter? Very nice and low. smile

Right! The VW shifters are like chodes, it's funny. But it's much easier to shift like that, and it looks better to.

Shorter???

Personally, I like where the shifter is. It rests my wrist perfectly in line with my cd head unit.

But, that's my $.02

I would like to shorten it as well. I think someone at Neco did this...

The question is, how does it attach now? I believe it is with an allen head screw...

If so, that should be easy to hack, drill and lower...
