Wow you guys are scaring me. What is this reliable secret source? Call up the dealer with the number and just ask them. Enough games. LIKE FORD IS GOING TO SELL A HEAD BOLT FOR A NICKEL. Give me a break. They are about $2 a piece. As Ryan stated they have a certain number per pack. You guys order Ford parts before?

Procyon has ALWAYS been correct on everything I have ever seen him post. So like he noted which I quoted, there is a part number for a single head bolt and a part number for a set of 8.

I hope he's right in this case. I'm very skeptical. Ford bolts are around $2 each!!!

Well, I am betting the PN is right. Stealerships are consistantly wrong with their listings and what not. Fordpartsonline.com is 50/50. They tried to tell me that the updated PS mount (late 98+) was discontinued, even after I supplied the updated part number. Also, a local stealership was showing me what they showed for the PS mount for ALL Contours 95-00, and it was the Escape's

I will end all confusion....I just bought them and got them last week in the mail from Bill...they list for 2.71
I paid 2.01 a piece.
I think what pryocon (sp) is referrring to is how they are packaged and shipped to the Ford dealer. They do come in one box of eight, but the price is still per head bolt.

$2.71 for a set sounds too cheap since FelPro's are like $15 ea. set. But the part number is for 8, not one.
I've been pointing out what the PN dictated, not how much they are. Ford has a PN for 1, and a PN for 8. Stealerships aren't exactly accurate in many cases, including this one. The vast majority of people buy TTY head bolts in sets, not just one.

That's pretty strange that they have 2 separate PNs for the same exact bolt. Generally(having worked in Ford's parts department), Ford will send a package of smaller parts such as bolts, nuts, washers, o-rings, etc in one package, and Ford can sell them separately.
Same thing goes for some spark plug manufacturers. They sell their plugs in packages of 4 or 8, but you have the option to buy 6, or just 1 for that matter.
