I figured I'd post my fix to the trecherous power window switch fault. I've read many posts from people that had the same problem I just fixed, without spending a dime.

It's an '00 SVT, and on the master power window switch, my up button for the driver side window would only work if I pressed really hard. So, I tore it all apart, separating the plastic pieces, cleaned the electrical contact points, then bent the stationary metal contact plate up just a bit to better ensure proper contact. I assume that with the constant use, things wear down some, and therefore I corrected that "wear factor" by bending that piece up a tad.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask. If there is enough interest, I can make a quick "How-to", and go back out and take pictures to help people out. Hope this helps someone.

For those not daring enough to start tearing things apart, I'll make those same adjustments fot them at no cost. Just PM the details, and pay for shipping both ways (or drive over to see it done in person)

i've never had this problem with my 99, but recently had to do the same thing to my cousin's 97 GTP. There are 2 little plastic "nipples" that push down on the contacts on the switch. They pretty much all broke off (stupid flimsy design) and I just bent the contacts a little and problem solved.

Feels good to save yourselt money with a little ingenuity eh?

I'm going to have to try it sometime... my front passenger part of it won't roll down the window.

Looks pretty ghetto when I lean over to roll down the power passenger window.
