As hard as it is for me to face the reality, it seems as if Ferrari has completely gone from EVERYTHING to nothing in all a matter of 1 year..I find it amazing..Ferrari is almost 2 seconds off the pace of the lead manufactuers Renault and McLaren Merc..Although Schumacher will not be winning the title this year, do you all think all this is just temporary and that Ferrari will be back on top next year..? It is quite frustrating for Ferrari and especially for Bridgestone because at the moment lets face it, their tire is horrible. Anywho what do you all think, Will ferrari be back on top and Schumacher go for #8..? Some pics from Spa-Fracorchamps (..Angry Schumacher having a few words with Sato after Sato rear-ending him..)

Maybe he'll go to NASCAR, that'd be cool. Maybe Ferrari will join up too. All the tires in NASCAR are goodyears.

One rule of F1 is never write off Ferrari. They're done for this year, of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were back on top next year.
On the other hand, Schumi has said that he'll only retire from F1 if he stops having fun. Most of this year would fall into the "not having fun" category, and Spa has been the worst so far.

I hate to break it to ya but schumi not dominating is probably the best thing that coulda happened. For the last few years I've had numerous friends tell me that F1 was the greatest racing on earth. Every time I tried waching a F1 race before this year I saw that same Ferrari out front. It was boring or at the very least uninteresting. This year I watched the first race and found it interesting so I watched every race up until the usgp. Then I stopped watching again. If Schumi starts dominating again next year then I won't watch. I want to see people competeing for the win not for third.

Goonz, do you really think that Schumacher has suddenly become a terrible driver and that Ferrari has built a lemon; or could it possibly be that Michelin has taken advantage of the all the miles of testing to build a better tire than Bridgestone? With ~10x more miles in testing than Bridgestone, Michelin has simply built a better tire and Ferrari, Jordan, and Minardi are suffering for it. So if you're handing out blame, which you seem to be doing, the proper sequence is starts with Bridgestone--not Ferrari and not Schumacher.

In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.

No not at all, I dont think Schumacher has become a terrible driver, he's more talented then anyone in F1 I've seen in my time, and I'm only 20. I've followed Schumi since he was in Benneton and won his fist title. Even though back then he took the gamble to join Ferrari (back then the worst team) the gamble paid off and look what they have accomplished. I really blame it on the tires. There is no way in hell Ferrari can lose that much in a year, it HAS to be the tires..Why else is Schumi concerned about tire wear all the time..I'm 100% sure that Ferrari with all its resources will get somthin done in the down time and next years car is gonna be somthing...And Schumacher will not leave when the "fun" is over, He said he would honor his contract maybe extend it a year or two..the extentsion part is rumored. I think one more title for him and he'll be done..How can you people get bored of watching Ferrari in front, its somthing how these people prepare each car for each race and to be able to be in front is somthin. All the other teams did not get sick of it, it drove them to be faster and quicker and look what happened this year, even schumi said it himself..However in the end as stated, never underestimate Ferrari, they'll be back next year..

You can't count out Ferrari, and you defintely can't count out MS (for next year). All *top* manufacturers in ALL racing styles go through ups and downs. Ferrari has dominated the last couple of years, just like Suzuki (and has since been kicked by Kawi...) has dominated in AMA and Audi in ALMS. There's always a lull at somepoint. Some just take longer to be kicked into it.
I disagree with stating that this season 'hasn't been fun' for MS. I think enjoys the challenges that he and Ferrari have faced. The politics, however, will be his demise.
And please, $DEITY, don't let him go to NASKAR and sully his good name...
