Well, the car weighs 2822lbs. It's RWD, has 201hp and 181ft/lbs (later raised to 217hp and 252hp in the Boxster S). It does 0-60 in 6.7s, and the 1/4 in 14.2s. It has a top speed of 149mph, and it can outhandle a Porsche 911 on the track, due in part to it's light weight and mid-engine design.

If you look at the Motor Trend shootout (M3 vs Z06 vs Boxster S) a few months back, you see that even though it was such a ridiculous comparison, the Boxster held it's own on the track compared to the other two.

Keep in mind that if someone's looking to go fast, this car's not really the right choice. A Boxster S will take care of that, but most just jump up to the 911 (320hp this year) for the extra money. But the handling and open-top experience is what it's all about. For the money spent, I could have bought any number of other cars, and god knows I looked at enough others, but until you drive one (and I mean REALLY drive one), it doesn't sink in.. I was about to buy a Corvette Convertible, and after a single test drive, changed my mind without hesitation.

If you get the chance, try and test drive one. Pick a nice sunny day when you can throw the top down, and drive it like it was meant to be driven.
