i jus finished mine and yes, the sealing is the hardest part. take your time when you do this.

Ive managed to seal mine up pretty well after the projector fit, no leaks. Look for a product called "seal all" its pretty liquidy so it seeps into any spots where water might. Just be careful becauseit will leak into visible places, and mess up all your work

You really shouldn't remove that "cap". That's kinda what makes the low beams low beams. Without it, you'll be blinding people. And blinded drivers may cross into your lane and wreck into your car. Just not a good idea.
