Ive been trying to satisify my "rap jones", and I cant find any new rappers that I like. Mabey Im just oldschool, and my collection may be a bit dated. Its become increasingly hard to find good rap. All I come across is the same old c(rap). Anybody have any suggestions. Im tired of hearing about gangsta's, blunts, 40's, and [censored]. Gimme some rap with some talent that I can stand to listen to for more than 30 seconds.

What happened to the days when you got on MTV, and the radio because you actually had tallent? Not because a few million teenagers bought your CD to listen to your one hit song that you diddn't even write yourself.

Jurassic 5 out of LA is making good old school style hip hop. Some of the roots is still good although it doesnt hold a candle to there old stuff. I like some of Nas's stuff. De la soul just released an album that got rave reviews although i never heard it. Mos def has alot of good stuff. Esp. if you go back to his black star days. There are some good contemperary hip hop artist out there, but its all undeground. Its not exactly what you are gonna hear on the radio. If i have a jonz for hip hop i just put on some old tribe called quest. Low end theroy, midnight maurader are timeless albums that never gets old.

its amazing what rap (crap) has gone to these days. Anybody can get a record deal. Dont get me wrong, I like Lil Jon. He makes good music, but I cant believe he gets paid millions of dollars to yell, "Yeah! What?! Okay! Skeet Skeet Skeet!" and he becomes a successful rapper. Maybe its because hes a successful producer. But rappers like Mike Jones and Yin Ying Twins are terrible imho. Poor lyrics and again, just say the same thing over and over. I miss the good ole days of 2pac and Biggie.

I'm feeling your pain Red. I thought it was just me, but there is indeed a decline in rap quality. I was thinking about it the other day when some E.B. & Rakim and Pharcyde came on the radio. I was rockin' to it and feeling good. Maybe I'm just getting older and out of touch with today's genre.

Naaaaaaaaaaaah, I mean come on, Mike F'n Jones! WTF!? How on earth did this mo' fo' get a deal!?

Yeah there's decent stuff, you just gotta look deeper than what is played on the radio, cause all that stuff is garbage. The Mike Jones album actually has some pretty good beats, granted the lyrics aren't the greatest. Also the new Kanye CD is real HOT, it's just chill to listen to. Also the new Akon CD is good. If you want some underground type stuff look up Chamillionare his song "turn it up", also look at stuff by Young Jeezy. But yeah I agree there is some crappy stuff out there, the new Tony Yayo is shiat(and I don't mean that in a good way). 50's new album isn't bad, not as good as the first but still has some good beats.
