MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY!!!! (heh)

I want to alert the CEG world to the upcoming huge matchup between the highly touted ruler of all car finishes, Zaino and the perennial challenger Meguiar's (with a side of Eagle One Wet). We will be conducting a completely unscientific and uncontrolled test pitting these two finishes on two Silver Contour SVT's.

In one corner is the very sweet and well modified Antonio Wright SVT sporting a Zaino finish (hopefully clean) and topped with a fresh shot of Z-6.

In the other corner is the mainly stock SVT of bigwalton (hopefully clean) with a fresh winter coat of the 3 step Meguiar's topped off with a fresh application of Eagle One Wet.

The conditions (according to weather.com) should be great for viewing and comparing the two finishes and there will be at least a couple of other, uninvolved CEGers to judge the finishes. Maybe we'll even solicit some random passers by opinions, just for fun.

The winner (assuming there is a distinct winner) will be posted for all to read (and hopefully see) right here, so stay tuned!

I will have my digital camera on hand to record the event and hopefully will get those pictures up here in short order.

**UPDATE: Shootout results can be seen at Bigwalton's Zaino vs. Meguiar's on Silver Page

Haha,

Eric, you really won't ever try Zaino, will you? smile

If NOT for the shine, then I'd try it because of the ease of application, and that the protection lasts 6 months, and that the wax on your car won't melt when the sun is hitting it. smile That alone sold me, rather than the shine to be honest. The shine is a bonus.

Go Zaino!

John

I agree with John. The shine between two identicle cars right after application means nothing to me. But when I can wash and quick detail it and look equally as good as 20 coats of wax (Roger R's ride for example) with minimal time and effort, I'm more than satisfied.

From what I've read about Zaino converts on silver finishes, here is what to look for. On silver frost clearcoat metallic I think one might notice the a slightly different color due to the optically clear Z vs. Hi-Tech yellow wax. I won't say one is better than another, just might be slightly different color when looked at closely, side by side. The other thing I've been told is that people notice the metallic sparkles more w/ Zaino for those that have switched.

Roger & I didn't really look at each other's ride too carefully. His was in the shade (had to protect from melting wax?), mine in the direct sun (is that all you got, God?). And I ran my finger across his paint and it felt very close to mine after Z6. I don't know what he did to prep. Both cars looked very good and both owners are happy.

Keep the cars and the joking clean. It's all fun.

Aaron

Can I order this on "pay-per-view" laugh Also whats the last step applied to the Mequiars car, Gold Glass or #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax? I only put on 20 coats, well more like 24 by now, because I'm a fanatic/nutz, thats all laugh The shine stays the same but I really want to stay protected and since I wash my car 3-4 times a week you can't be to protected. I kmow the amount of times I've done my car is "overkill" but I like doing it!

Just show up to some of the "Unofficial" meets for the SE MI CEG-ers and we'll check out our finishes wink I really love the friendly war about this but one thing...WE AREN'T BEING PAID BY EITHER ONE OF THEM eek I think we should do something about that, what do you think confused
