Roger,

I applied two more coats of Z2 a couple weeks ago. I hope to get one more coat on on a warm November day, but we'll see. As for winter care, it'll be quarter car washes and no-touch automatics when necessary. However, my SVT will not take on much snow (if I can help it) as I have another ride w/ Blizzaks. So, mine might not get the weather wear as yours. Still, it'll get driven whenever the snow isn't falling.

But, yes, I'll try to wash the car before unofficial meets.

Roger R, you really make me laugh. You should be buff as hell next spring zing from buffing 24 coats of Peanut Butter huh.... I only have like 6 coats, and I bet my match or outshine yours, and you have 4x's more coats. Like I said before stop sniffing the high tech yellow wax... The **** does not burn well.

HAH! You guys crack me up. Pay per view... HAHAHAHAHAH!

As I mentioned in the other post about this, I WANT to switch to Zaino, but I'm the kind of person who has to be convinced of the advantage of dropping big $$$ before taking the plunge. I have too many things to spend money on to be bothered throwing it away on stuff like this. I figure this ought to settle it once and for all.

Oh, there's also going to be a freshly waxed Zymol ride there too... this thing is turning into a battle royale now!

Ummm, I don't have the stuff with me here, it's at home and I can't remember the exact name, but what I use is the three step system in the red bottles and the last step after those three is the Eagle One Wet detailing spray. I'm planning on a claybar treatement before application this time, because I have yet to do that and I think it would be a good idea before the second winter for my car.

As I have said before, the EOWet is what I think really does the trick. The shine and especially the feel before and after the spray are SO different. My typical maintenance is to wash with Meguiar's Soft Gel and then hit it with the EOWet. Inbetween I use Megiar's Quick Detailer and more EOWet when necessary. I find that it takes a long time between washes/reapplication before the feel of the EOWet fades through any type of weather. I didn't find the EOWet until this spring though, so I can't really say how well it held up over the winter, but the Meguiar's alone seemed to do well last winter.

If this is the case, then why are you such a Meguiars avocate. Shouldn't you be pushing the EO stuff? Also, to add another log to this fire, how can this be a true Zaino vs Meguiars contest if you use the EO stuff???

You have a good point, but I have had this one bottle and never needed to get another one, you don't use that much at a time. Same with the 3 step Meguiar's, I tried it and liked the results so I keep getting it (until the last wax, when I tried Zymol myself). I will look for a similar Meguiar's product and get it in lieu of the EOWet if it exists, I've just never bothered to look for it. I will be certain to post exactly what was done on each car regardless, ok?

BTW, if you look back at my posts, I've ALWAYS explained what I use and I don't feel like I'm a "Meguiar's advocate" as much as I am someone who makes the point that I personally feel there's other options as good looking on silver. A lot of the time I don't even mention Meguiar's at all and when I do I always mention the EOWet.

I made the topic what it is because squeezing in " with Eagle One Wet" would have been too damn long laugh Anyone who reads this knows what the products are and I don't see it as a real problem, we ok now? smile

We are peachy! laugh I really don't have a problem at all to tell you the truth. I feel the Zaino should win, regardless of the combination of waxes used. GO ZAINO!

I actually performed a Zymol vs. Meguiar's test on my hood - cleaned both halves with Meguiar's Paint Cleaner and put 2 coats each of Meguiar's Cleaner Wax on one half and Zymol on the other.

I washed once a week and used E1 Wet ocassionally. After 30 days, they were virtually the same - non-existent.

On the E1 Wet subject, I prefer it over Meguiar's Detail Spray. Meguiar's seemed to leave streaks and the E1 Wet seems to come off a lot easier.

Hey Antonio "peanut butter" I think thats a bit extreme to compare Mequiars to  LOL. I take it that this Zaino stuff is like water when it comes out of the bottle? As far as my "24 coats" I wash the car alot in the spring/summer/fall so I want that extra level of protection. Also I'm a fanatic about doing it, so its more about that then I don't trust the Mequiars to work. ATTN: smile Use the following 3 step:

1.Cleaner wax-body scrub
2.#7 Glaze/Polish
3.#26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax/Gold Glass

Now this may sound surprising but I really like the Mothers version of the "quick detailer". That stuff works great and smells like cinnamon laugh DING-DING "Lets get it on",one coat at a time
:p

Roger,

Zaino isn't like water, but you do put it on very thin. On silver in my garage, I really cannot tell where I've already applied it. But I know it's there. Once I'm done applying, I move it into the sun to dry. Then, I can see a little in certain angles. As it dries it's more obvious. Run you finger across it in an hour or two to check if it's dry.

Here's the beauty: Since it's so thin, taking your towel over it is so easy. It's more like wiping the excess off than buffing wax into the surface.

Since you are curious about the process, at our next meet if my car is clean, I'll tryy to have a coat on the hood a couplehours before. Then it will be dry and you can see how easy it is to take off.
