I think Katrina could have been an act of God. Honestly, this nation has gone down the crapper considering the christian values it was founded upon. I wouldnt be surprised if God is having his wrath on this country since its become so wicked.

Or that it's just an act of God in the sense that it's an act of nature, meaning that it just happened. Storms happen. Earthquakes happen. Stuff happens. It isn't necessarily because someone made somebody mad.

there was a movie about a month or so ago that depicted this whole mess. everything from the levees breaking to the gas prices skyrocketing all over and disaster after disaster occuring. i think they are going to show it again, i forget the name of it though. imo it has always been the american way of putting off problems and issues and when it happens, action is taken.as for aide not being available, i dont think the governor or even the president should have the finger pointed. we couldnt even begin to calculate the magnitude of all this.

Actually a worst-case scenario tidal surge like the one that happened should have been planned for. The fact that it wasn't is good reason to assign blame IMO.
All this "God is angry at us" stuff wold make me laugh if it wasn't slightly scary that people actually believe it.

Exactly. And I don't think this happened because "God is angry at us." I suppose its possible but I really don't know. Nor am I too sure about why a loving and all powerful God allows things like hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis to occur. Its hard for me to accept that God has unleashed His "wrath" on us for being wicked and sinful.
I'll say it again though. It was sinful to not be as prepared for Katrina as we should have been, and to not have had better forsight to prevent it. And in a sense "sinful" also could simply mean, "its a shame" what happened. If you want to think of it that way.

This is one of the more ridiculous post I've seen in a while. Don't get me wrong, all the things these people have went through is horrible but in a way it's their own fault. I mean, they live in a friggin toilet bowl BELOW SEA LEVEL. It was only a matter of time before something of this nature happened. It has nothing to do with god or anyone else for that matter. That's why it's called a NATURAL disaster.
