And don't the Neathernlands have THREE flood walls to protect them as opposed to the ONE that New Orleans had?

Yes in the long run nature wins always, but then again in the long run we're all dead too. And yes, the Netherlands is keeping nature at bay. Obviously we don't have the power to control hurricanes and tornados(I never said we did in the first place), but without the numerous engineering achievements that they have implemented, the current 3rd (around there) largest agricultural economy in the world wouldn't exist and would be under water as we speak.

I don't know about three but they definitely have more than one. They were/are prepared for floods and are able to minimize damage if there happens to be one.

That's correct. And New Orleans has received over $1 billion dollars since the early 1970's to improve the levee system, but most the money was diverted to some BS pork work projects. Has anyone else been following how the Red Cross had two truckloads of food, water and blankets by the Superdome prior to the Hurricane, but the governor wouldn't allow them to be distributed because "we don't want to encourage people to stay there."
