I have installed a 95 Console in my 2000 SVT and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how I can wire the lighter so the light works.
Also what have people done to the hinged compartment cover to match the Midnight blue? Was there a Midnight blue interior with the old style Console? confused

There was no "purple" interior on the pre-98's. Antonio Wright had his painted by a shop. It looks VERY nice.

Here's the thread, but not sure about the pics.

PGP was able to match my interior paint perfectly for my a-pillar (color was off) they had midnight blue on the list of ford colors the guy had

they gave me a pint of paint and an aerisol(sp?) can with a jar on the bottom that makes a small job paint-gun, it was pretty slick, stuff went on thick, only needed one coat.

The cigarette lighter Hooks right up to were the original one was. Mine works light and lighter. If you are going to paint It go to an Auto body supply store and take your original armrest In to have the paint matched and they can make a Pint of DYE Paint It dyes It to the Color so it doesn't flake of or you don't have to Sand. It cost me $22.00 for the paint. I had the mechanic at my shop paint it with a paint gun. As for the armrest I'm still trying to get It covered To match the interior.

Koolaid, Good luck trying to get the armrest covered. I tried for over a month, and still no one could do it due to the way the damn thing is stiched. I just took my old(98+) armrest and screwed it on with some longer screws.

Just go to a Ford dealer and buy some interior spray paint (they'll need the paint code from the label on the driver's door). Nearly perfect match. The armrest is a little trickier, and I'll probably end up doing what Antonio did.

I already had the console painted. It looks sweet. I used Black Bumper and trim paint on the black (grey) parts and that matches the black on the dash really well. I cut the trim around the radio and used the whole lower bracket from the 95. This way I retain the top two screws and also the little filler piece. It looks pretty good.

The Cigarette lighter has three plugs on it and the wiring harnass only has two wires. Where is the best area to tap into for lighting the light?
