on a Zetec Contour, Is this hard to do?
what would i need? please help.
i assume, clutch pedal, cable, 5 speed tranny, clutch, flywheel, mounts?

...and subframe out of a manual Zetec...
So pretty much you need the whole front end off a 5 speed Zetec...

Might be better off finding a 5 speed Contour and swapping over your parts.

It can be done for under $1K including a new spec clutch, how is that not worth it?

I was talking to Jon (Exdelayed) the night I posted that, and we had talked about how he did it for under $1K. Ask him, he might be willing to give some helpful pointers.

Get a parts car for a couple hundred... switch it out for another couple hundred...

Exactly, that's how Exdelayed did his. That is the best way as is has the correct subframe, trans, harness', and all the other odd ball parts you'll need.
Junkyard MTX car wouldn't be that much at all, especially one smashed from behind.
