With the ZETEC, provided you have not replaced the stock cams with performance cams, they have built-in-clearance (as some good-ole'boys would say)or are non-interference engines. Some guys on the FOCUS web pages who don't work on their own cars, have had some mechanics tell them that they had valve damage in order to charge them unreal amounts for work not done.
