Actually yes, there is a correlation that if global warming does exist, it will cause more intense hurricanes. According to global warming, the planet is heating up -- causing warmer oceans which lead to lower pressures and more intense hurricanes.

And I think New Orleans shouldn't be rebuilt. As a taxpayer I wouldn't want my money being funnelled into rebuilding a city that could have the same tragedy befall it in a season or two. NO kept dodging natures bullets for too long and this time it got hit. One day nature's going to get a headshot when it sweeps a CAT4 or 5 hurricane right over the big easy.

And Stein could have been a little more nonpartisan with that message ...

I'm going to try and avoid the politics because I am admittedly uninformed. But you have to admit, building a large city on a muddy delta below sea level isn't one of the brightest ideas human beings have come up with. Should we rebuild it? Perhaps, but how about putting everything on stilts or something? <-- thas a joke....

I'm good there; I have 4 bottles of Habanero Tabasco in the pantry.

Life without Tabasco would be rough. I could do without a lot before I'd want to go too long without hot sauce.

Rebuild the ports further west. It's not as if its the 1600's.

When Galveston, TX was hit in 1900 and destroyed, it was the US's main shipping port. The city was rebuilt, but it was never the same, instead Houston became the primary shipping port of TX, which is still is today. My money is on Baton Rouge growing like Houston did after the 1900 storm, and replacing NO as the primary port.
