I'm thinking about signing up for Yahoo music unlimited. What do you think of the service? Is it worth $5 per month?

only down-side i see is the .79 per song to burn to cd (or non compatable device) but I'm sure there are programs out there that will let you get around that. Sounds like a good plan to me, 5 bucks a month for all the songs you want, sounds like a good deal.

Read this too: * Yahoo! Music Unlimited: $59.88 per year, billed annually (that's just $4.99 per month); or $6.99 per month, billed monthly. Yahoo! Music Unlimited is available to U.S.-based subscribers only.

Although selling proprietary info is perfectly acceptable?

I find it simply amazing that the simple implication of downloading music is met with an instant warning, while someone can ADVERTIZE the piricy of proprietary Ford data not only without apparent warning but the SUPPORT of the same moderation team!

Hypocrisy certinly appears to run rampant. I'd invite the mods to comment on this in the forum, as opposed to deleting this post.

Concerned and confused.

John.

I understand...

The subject came up a month or so ago and we asked the same question. Well, we never got a response. But I and a few other mods, feel that it is not in the best interest of this site to promote illegal activities. No matter what that activity is, we should not promote it and I will not allow it to be promoted in any of the forums that I moderate. That is until Rara, Lance or Outback Gal tells me otherwise.

Talking about "pay-for-music-sites" is fine, of course.

I completely agree that piricy should not be supported.

Can someone please tell me then why some things are ok and some are not?

Why is it that when this link is posted

"Link deleted by unisys12"
it is deleted?

I just don't get it.

The purpose of this site is reportedly to provide a forum of information for like minded enthusiasts.
Not a market place for information pirtes to profit from their blantant illegal activity.

Can this be explained?

Still concerned and confused

John.

That was when all this got started. Upperlevel Admins thought it was not prudent to allow the post to stay up and a few mods pointed out that it wasn't right to allow one and say the another was a legal issue. I and a few others pointed out that they were all legal issues and what was good for the goose is good for the gander. We never recieved a further response.

Again, since I only have control of the forums I moderate, I will moderate them in a way that I see meets the interest of this community. Outside of those forums, I have no control. That is up to the other moderators and the admins. Even though the link above does provide a great deal of information to the community, it is piriated information and we cannot support it.
