If all of these CDs are pirated information, then is there a legal way to buy them? Or were they not designed with the consumer in mind to begin with? Up till now, I had thought the programs were free domain in one way or another.

The Ford Factory CD is, in my understanding, meant to given/purchased to Ford techs/garages. (on an individual or corporate level I don't know..)

Also.

For future reference: If you KNOW something was deemed inappropriate, please don't post a link to it, AGAIN,. just to point it out. Simply stating "a link to ford cds was removed" would have sufficed, and wouldn't look like another attempt to get it posted.

Right now Im doing some marketing work for RIAA. According to them, most of the major shareware sites will be shut down within the next 2 months or so. Reason being that the courts just ruled it acceptable for them to go after the software manufacturers, not just the people sharing the files. So, be prepared to start using sites like yahoo if you still want to download.

only problem with that being that most of them are not in the us so it will be very hard for them to do anything about it....which is why alot of them are still in operation...

Why has the issue never been debated then?

And you've been a fantastic mod... My hat to you sir.

And this is where i'd like to see some explanation or at least some form of debate or comentary on the subject.

Is it that ALL questionable material does not receive the support of the management of this forum? If so than why is it supported for some and not others?

You phrased it well when you said "what's good for the goose..."
Why is that level of fairness not applied to all? How can the management ask for all members of the site to contribute in a monentary form, yet blantly play favorites with a few 'chums'? I fail to see how this policy is being administered fairly. What is the reasoning behind this?

Thank you for your input unisys.

Can you elebraborate on why?

I'm still confused. It's perfectly alright for some to profit on the backs of others, while if you try to provide useful information to the community you are met with the tone you display?

BTW... are you the mod for this forum?

I'm trying to point out to all that this policy is less than fair... I have it in my mind to report this activity to Ford themselves.

To put it succinctly... It is unfair to profit from copyrighted material without license to do so. To preach this as gospel here, yet go on to support the activity of a few members baffles me.

Why is Todras allowed to?

THe CD's may be purchased from your local Ford Dealer.

Price one out.

They are copyrighted material and not public domain.

Do you really think that is going to stop illegal file sharing? It never has before. Look at napster. Did it die when they were shut down? No it got bigger. There are plenty of other ways to sahre music without the mainstream programs. IRC, FTP, BT to name a few.

Whoo Hoo...todds gonna be someones milk chugger in the big house!!!! i knew ya had it in ya boy, but not literally!!!!

hey guys for those of you that jump the gun and didn't read Phils post (Unisys6969?) he clearly stated that this and other things have been being talked about by all moderators. Ray is asking people nicely to not do something that is clearly illegal so not to bring any trouble to the site.

why keep fighting them, they're not the big power holders, they are only trying to carry out thier responsibilities as moderators. and not to offend anyone, but these are probably the two fairest moderators here IMO (Mr. Hetfield you know I wubb you too!!!)

My suggestion would be to PM Lance or Rara and tell them that you want to post link to material that is unlawful and illegal and wait or them to say it's OK. Please post thier responses here as i would love to read them.
