That is a tired old line, isn't it. Just because you have no faith, don't discount everybody who does.

It has its place. You choose not to make use of it fine for you. Others do make use of it. IMHO civilization as it stands now would not exist if not for religion.




Right. It might be more peaceful. If no religion existed there wouldn't be nearly as many conflicts going on right now. As far as I am concerned, there is no place fore religion, it just leads to violence in 'gods name'. My 2cents.




That's a rather miopic view. Frankly, I like leaders who have some sort of faith as I can use it as a gauge to anticipate how they would govern. Faith as a guide is a good thing IMHO.

Conflicts usually arise over things such as greed, i.e. money, minerals, resources, or historical racial animocity like you see in Croatia. Religion typically teaches quite the opposite to what you suggest. When a leader discards the guide offered by faith is when religion becomes a political tool & is twisted as a means to an end.
