That is called being a hpyocrite. I used to work for a company that was all born again Christians, ALL of them were drug addicts, adulterer's and retired criminals. Being a born again was their way of "staying on the straight and narrow" I guess. Most of them used God as an crutch to treat people like crap. But it's all OK because they were "born again" and were forgiven for acting like assclowns. The rest of us on the other hand, if you weren't born again you were just "dirty". Unfit in God's eyes. Not going to the kindom of heaven. I've heard these types refered to as "hypochristians" and it's a fitting term.

I agree with what you're saying. I have a quote to sum that one up, too. "The foundation of morality should not be made dependent on myth nor tied to any authority lest doubt about the myth or about the legitimacy of the authority imperil the foundation of sound judgment and action." Einstein. Being religious has nothing to do with being a good person, because many are not - take for example many of the people in prison who claim they find God after being sentenced. There is no reason why those of us who are not religious cannot be good people, in many cases better than those who are. The quote in your profile is a prime example, and very true. The primary reason we still have war in modern times is because of religion.
