Florida handled their many hurricanes well and should have been a model for NO LA.

Apples and Oranges. Tell me when there was a hurricane in Florida that was comparable to Katrina. Katrina was a natural disaster of unprecented magnitude in this country. I could be wrong, but I bet the deaths in LA attributable to Katrina exceed the deaths in Florida from ALL HURRICANES IN RECORDED HISTORY.

I would think the fact that there have been fewer deaths in FL "in all recorded history" despite, regularly, being hit by larger, more powerful hurricanes, actually gives credence to the argument that Florida has done something right. The fact that so many people died only makes it that much clearer that Lousiana's handling of the entire process was less then stellar.
