its the same attitude that oprah has when she says [censored] like "martin luther king was a great black american".....evidently whites cant look up to him either as a great AMERICAN...nothing more nothing less.....
BIG EFFin' Bullseye!!! This exactly why we need to move away from the "hypen" American names, like African-American, Italian-American, etc.
I agree with you Antonio about the previous comment about the four "black leaders" are leaders of organizations and don't represent all African Americans. But heres the point alot of us have with it, I think. You never hear black people say another black or black group is wrong in public when they get the chance, its like a "we gotta stick together" and can't bash one of our own. I know for a fact that when white people do something wrong to a black person we're the first people to want to yell the loudest about it on TV and the news, so I guess we'd like the same thing to happen on the other end, a sign of "good faith" I guess you could say. As far as David Duke being a white leader, well he is, he's a leader of a bunch of VERY racist people but the difference is he doesn't make any bones about it, whereas Rev Al, Jesse, Qwamai aren't as bold. The only one thats a PURE racist is "swap meet Louie" Lewis Farakahn In a speech once he called us the "blonde haired, blue-eyed devil" I can tell you this, I have blonde hair, not much of it mind you, but I'm NO devil.
Now on the other hand you get someone like Bill Cosby that actually gets on TV and calls out his own for whining about everything and blaming the white man and not knowing how to talk correctly (who does though ) When something like this happens he's called an "Uncle Tom", why is that I ask Its that mentallity that I call "urban mentality" and its alot of the problem we have in our country, especially here in the metro Detroit area. Speaking of the metro Detroit area its the most liberal city in America, believe it or not Berkley. This leads me to yet another question that I'd like Antonio or others to answer for me, why do black people keep voting for Dems for the past 40 years and their still complaining about the same problems to this day
In closing let me pass this little story on to balance things out a bit. My wife and I were visiting relatives in WV about 2 years ago. We walked down the local mart to pick up some donuts for breakfast. When we were walking back this pickup truck approaches us (I know, thats a surprise) He asked my wife and I if we knew where so and so lived. We told him we're not from around here. He asked us where we lived and we told him Detroit. He then went on to say that he drove through DEEE-troit when he drove a truck. Then in a stunning surprise he dropped this joke on us. He said this..."I heard that Canada wanted to annex Detroit", I said "why is that" and he said "they wanted all N-words". I was so shocked to hear someone just drop the N-bomb that quickly. I was very uncomfortable and just walked away. I may not be black myself but I was very offended by his comment/joke, it was no joke at all IMO.
Antonio, I may have only met you once and talked to you several times here on the computer, but I consider you a friend
