How much money could we have given LA if it hadn't been wasted in Iraq? How many National guardsmen would be aiding the people in LA if they weren't in Iraq?

It's simple:

1) There will NOT be a lack of resources for the response; there HAS been a HUGE lack of intelligent thought in expecting an instantaneous response to one of the biggest natural disasters that has EVER hit the US.

2) It takes TIME to coordinate rescue and supply efforts of this magnatude. Another 10-20K troops sitting around on their asses until a PLAN can be put into effect doesn't do New Orleans a bit of good, does it?

Face it; if the "Big One" hit the San Andreas fault today, Mother Nature wouldn't be held accountable or the idiots that continue to build on one of the most active seismic zones on the planet, it would be the Federal govt. and whoever is in office at the time because it's easier to be an idiot and spout theories and rehash what the press shoots out instead of thinking objectively.

Now I'm just waiting for the left-wing crackpots to start blaming Bush for the cuts in FEMA and Army Core of Engineers budgets for next year because of the Iraq War, DESPITE the fact that Congress controls the budget and none of the planned cuts had TAKEN EFFECT yet...
