That is insane! I would beat the hell out of it, then let the warranty replace everything... THENNNNNNNN start modding it.

Lmao.. I have 500 miles of easy driving to break it in first. I do custom everything and already have a body I want to mold to it. Anyone ever think about an 05 M3 body kit molded to the CSVT? I think thats my plan as well as a custom fiberglass hood and trunklid. Probably mold the rear trunklid to look similar to teh rear of an older 3 series (since that was it's "competition"). Turbo and 3L are a must, I hear someone by the name of Keith at ADC is a "star" in that area.... might have to get ahold of him. What about the trans. Anything I can do with it? I don't think the damn thing has an LSD, does Ford still sell the Torsen?
I can easily change this thing in a heartbeat. RWD? AWD? Turbo AWD? Selectable AWD? Drop a 350 like a Focus we had once? I can make a few phone calls, have a Jaguar S type subframe, suspension, and transfer case here in a day if I wanted. Swap in a rear multi link suspension and independant rear? Thats me.
I'm not trying to rub anything in anyones face here... just stating how serious this CSVT is about to get toyed around with. Now... I know what kind of car this "is" and will remain this way at all. I HATE ricers and discuss wild flamboyant paint jobs, giant mufflers, and stickers... [censored] all that.

MagedUpR/T - I think you are about to be a lot of CEG'ers hero!! I'll go ahead and tell you now, that the consensus would be a 3L turbo on an AWD chassis. As for your tranny, your best bet would be to send it off to Terry Haines if you aren't going to go AWD. He is the mastermind behind these transmissions, and you will find a TON of info on him, his company, and his background with a little searching. You have 2 options on the LSD, either the Quaife(which Terry offers), or the Torsen. I notice that the search function is nothing new to you, as you've already recognized Keith as the guy to go to at ADC for your turbo kit. Good luck modding the CSVT, and keep us updated on your project. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there are a LOT of knowledgable people here! Mark

Thanks Mark. I don't want to be a "Hero" neccerarily. Maybe to show a few people here and there that by putting your imagination, resources, and skills to work... you CAN infact accomplish all that you want. I'm amazed, after this car has been out for as long as it has been that NO ONE here has done some of the things they have spoke of. A lot of you guys are "do it at home" turbo builders, engine rebuilders.... whats throwing in a rear dif, selcting an appropriate awd from a car and ripping it out of their, that sounds easy compared to some of the things I've read in F/I with your guy's turbo's and what not. My motto.. and probably what got me to where I am is... "Unique dreams are those less traveled, pursue it before dusk sets in and it's lost." (Where I got my company name from )

Because you have to build a drive shaft tunnel. Not cheap or easy.

What could be hard about it? If I utilize the Jags suspension and what not, I'll utilize it's gas tank so I don't have to wory about splitting the tank... or I'll just get a fuel cell , put it in the rear spare well, and call it a day. Chopping a drive shaft isn't anything.

OK get to it then. Money most not be an object. It is for most of us with our cars worth about 3-5k. This car is a poor mans BMW and that's why we like it.
