Really? I was looking at a 99 Contour next to the 98 Merc and the hoods and fenders looked the same. I will stop and look again tonight.

I'm pretty sure the fenders are shaped differently around to lights to match the curvature of the edges of the lights.

I thought it was only the innder headlight porting that was a different shape.
