Here's my info: way too heavy. The sidewall on 17" wheels is very slim already. If you go with 19", you're down to 3", and you're not going to see enough difference in response to make up for the loss of speed due to all that rotational mass under nearly all driving conditions.
Now if you think they look pimp - well I think that 17s fit the car better, but looks are all opinion.
EDIT: 16" is a great size too, especially if you're using a 24" O.D. (stock on early cars) package like me - but 16x7.5 is hard to find, and I think 225/45 on a 7.5 wheel is probably the best tire for grip in 16" or 17", at least of tires you can throw on without rubbing issues (usually). 15" for racing might be a good option if you can get some 225s on 15x7s like the Comp Lites, but I don't know what low-pro 225 tires you can find in 15", and you couldn't really use them for the street, plus you'd mess with your gearing. But maybe.
