The problem is that the SVT you will likely want to buy will be in good condition, meaning the owner was somewhat of an enthusiast, making it less likely that they will want to sell (at market value anyway).
I don't want to sound too discouraging, but you'll probably be hard pressed to find a nice relatively stock one, not in need of a lot of $TLC$.
But good luck! I know what it's like to set a goal and make it happen - that's how I ended up with my SVT. When I could finally afford to own a car, I put my name on a waiting list at the local SVT dealer and got a call 6 months later when one came in off of lease. I had to run in and out-bid 4 other buyers.
