I fail to see how a sarcastic comment that was obvious flame bait about the war in iraq has anything to do with high gas prices caused by a hurricaine cutting off portions of domestic oil supply And in the past month every political thread that you have been part of has turned into a religious debate pat robertson racial profiling etc... but i am sorry i said anythign, carry on

I hurried in this morning and filled up while it was still $2.54. I never thought I'd think that was cheap!
I'm sure it's up by now, the gas station owners were saying it was gonna go up today.

Like I said if you want to discuss this further you can pm me, otherwise, back to the orginal thread.
And FYI the Pat Robertson thread was obviously already about politics and religion before I even got there. Same for the racial profiling. So unless I were to come in here and say, "Oil is up because Bush is a Christian and Islam hates Christians and so they raise oil prices" then I would be turning this into a religious debate. I haven't before and I still haven't now.

we all know gas prices are affected by supply and demand. the supply is unstable because of the war, katrina, lack of refineries, and lack of new oil sources. demand is increasing.
we can go into each of those "reasons" and debate them for days.
i thought the point of this thread was just to complain about prices, not why they're that high since we all know why they are high.

BACK ON TOPIC!!!!
So can anyone tell me why gas prices have jumped so high? The hurricane os over, as far as I knew it didn't destroy any gas refineries or oil rigs. Is it the whole panic stricken American investor that is driving the price of oil futures up, which is bringing the price of gas up??? Or is it really OPEC. For once I am NOT looking for politics thrown into the arguement, I think gas prices are outragous enough without throwing politics in the mess...
Oh and I am glad I got my bike with 40+mpg...
EDIT: I guess everyone doesnt know why they are so high... I want to know. I have heard all the news reports about it, but I don't believe what I hear all the time...
