Let's face it, the average US Ford customer isn't on the lookout for cutting edge styling, high performance, and the latest technology. They want practical, utilitarian vehicles without all of the frills such as the Tarus or a truck. Granted there are those of us out there who are "enthusiasts", but they comprise a small portion of Ford's overall customer base. Performance-wise most look to Ford for the Mustang & although there were other decent performance Fords out there (Lightning, CSVT, FSVT, et cetera) the Mustang is what they associate with Ford. Now granted the Iosis isn't particularly meant to be an all-out performance car, but it's styling is definitely more "edgy" than what most Ford buyers want here in the States. That's a damn shame.

I think it's a damn good looking car & really a good direction for Ford to help them break out of the rut they've been in for soooooooo long. There are clear styling cues from other Ford marques and take lines from both Aston (B-pillar back; DB-7/8/9/Vanquish) & Mazda (front fender area; RX-8) which I think make it look pretty good so let's hope they at least incorporate some of that in future vehicles.

Oh, and I'm not too keen on the name either. Iosis? Sounds like some sort of venereal disease or something. "Yeah man, I just got my test results back from the clinic. The doc says I have the Iosis. This sucks!!!" Oh well.
