It is underpowered compared to the competition. 3.0 producing between 200 - 220 HP pales in comparison to the 3.5 VQ from the Nissan, the 3.3 from Toyota, and the Accord V6. Even the frickin Sonata is pushing 235 HP now.

I can see G35 in the front fascia including the grill area, RX8 on the front fenders, AM in the rear for sure. I think the G35 coupe and the RX8 are 2 of the best looking cars on the road, and who could ever bad mouth an Aston Martin. This car is fine by me.
But who cares. Almost every car coming out today has a hint of another car. You can only make cars in a basic shape without crossing the lines of another make.
Kind of like some music, it's different but the words are all the same.

I'm not so sure about that name; it sounds like a health condition. I just imagine conversations like...
"Hey, guess what? I got an Iosis today."
"What's that?"
"Iosis! It's..."
"Oh [censored] man, that sucks! I got that when I went to Thailand.. Have the blisters started oozing yet?"

While it has potential in some areas, it just lacks any sense of integration and proportion. The rear roofline and decklid are essentially useless.
Ford just isn't using the 3.0 well enough... when a simple intake and proper A/F mapping can give it 250hp...

That to everyone is right, Ford really needs to start upping the numbers there new v6's are putting out. I mean the new Fusion is at 221 which is only 21 higher then the SVT Contour in 00. Which is a car that was been out of production for 5 years but it still looks sweet.

Chop, anyone? Subtle differences- widened the wheels only a tad, added a second foglight (how bright are those dinky things, anyways?) toned down the front wheel hump, added some freaking windshield wipers And they say this is a promising new start? And a few other things, shortened the shovel in the front fascia and thinned out the upper chrome (by the oval) to a nice point. changed the tail lights a bit, and the exhaust exit hole. Any takers? CHOP ORIGINAL CHOP ORIGINAL I just feel the current concept needs a bit refining, but it's just me!

I agree. Too much Bangle "flame-surfacing" going on. I they could clean up the lines a little bit, it would be alright. But after having 24 hours to look at it, it is certainly not a breath-taking design.

Let's face it, the average US Ford customer isn't on the lookout for cutting edge styling, high performance, and the latest technology. They want practical, utilitarian vehicles without all of the frills such as the Tarus or a truck. Granted there are those of us out there who are "enthusiasts", but they comprise a small portion of Ford's overall customer base. Performance-wise most look to Ford for the Mustang & although there were other decent performance Fords out there (Lightning, CSVT, FSVT, et cetera) the Mustang is what they associate with Ford. Now granted the Iosis isn't particularly meant to be an all-out performance car, but it's styling is definitely more "edgy" than what most Ford buyers want here in the States. That's a damn shame. I think it's a damn good looking car & really a good direction for Ford to help them break out of the rut they've been in for soooooooo long. There are clear styling cues from other Ford marques and take lines from both Aston (B-pillar back; DB-7/8/9/Vanquish) & Mazda (front fender area; RX-8) which I think make it look pretty good so let's hope they at least incorporate some of that in future vehicles. Oh, and I'm not too keen on the name either. Iosis? Sounds like some sort of venereal disease or something. "Yeah man, I just got my test results back from the clinic. The doc says I have the Iosis. This sucks!!!" Oh well.
