I'm beginning to wonder how it would look on a T-red like mine.

Rear SVT emblem painted flat black (just like my front grille) along with the rear chrome strip painted flat black to match the lower valance...

Think I'll try that. Opinions?

John

Is that an Epson PhotoPC 750z camera I see in the reflection?

I think that would be kickin'! Even w/o painting the chrome strip. Too bad I just put my SVT on the back a couple of months ago (car did not come w/ it). I may still peel it off and paint it. I've heard getting the chrome strip off is a bear though.

IT's actually part of the whole reflector assembly. I'd just mask off the reflector, sand and paint it...

I think I'll do it.

Not a good picture, but I painted the "Contour" body colour, still have to do the "24v" one, reminds me of the SHO.

JMHO as usual, I guess it's all local trends. To me orange blinkers have a function, they help other people locate you at night. White blinkers look like you hit a lamp post and cracked the corner light on your Cutlass but are too lazy to get it fixed. Heurk.

IMO, there shouldn't be any orange up there whether it's coming from the reflector or the bulb; and again, they're not completely white and certainly not blue, so (IMO) it's somewhere in-between 'rice' and 'not rice'. wink

Anyway, it's just something I thought to do for myself. I originally bought the clear bulbs for how they look while they're off; now the barely visible (in the daytime) amber glow is growing on me. It's nothing to do with trends; it's just that I prefer clear to orange.

Sometimes I wonder why I did it, and then I'll catch a Contour or a Mystique with the "old orange bulbs" and it serves to remind me. laugh

As for the reflectors... I've been planning to get the reflectors out since I bought this car, just been too lazy and/or occupied to do it. I hear the method used for removing the Contours' is somewhat 'less-than-adequate' for the Mystique's more fully-spread reflector, so I'm waiting. I just can't get up the nerve to crack off the lenses.

Long-windedly,
.RMk..

Heck no, I made the mistake of taking out the reflectors on my first set of headlights. I will never do that again.
The headlights on my car are the originals. My new ones are at Mr. Hightowers getting the blacked out treatment. Pics will be up as soon as he completes the amazing process.
I think this black out treatment will be my favorite cosmetic mod yet!!!!!
