Had the car inspected on Friday.

1. Bad front bearing - Driver's side
2. Leaking rear struts
3. Broken rear spring.

Yikes!!!!!

The bearing was just changed in in January of '04 and had 17,000 miles on it. Ford would not budge on the warranty so I had to pay to have it replaced again.

As far as the suspension, I knew I had to change it but was hoping the car would make it to 100,000. I currently have 94,500.

So the bearing change made me pass the inspection and I am up for new springs and struts next spring.

What fun.

that sucks.

I thought you already changed your springs back when one of them broke on you? (mall parking lot, right?)
did you only replace that one?

Those were the front springs. The rear springs are giving me trouble now.

I'm surprised the broken rear spring wasn't immediately noticeable. When it happened to my dad's Windstar (twice) the van dropped about a foot!

I'm with you on the problem board - my car's been at the dealer for over a week now.

I incurred a 50$ fine for not having the SVT inspected....1) Bald tires (safety) 2)non-functioning e-brake (safety) and almost zero suspension bushing(s) left in either front or rear end sway bars (can you say: "clunk-clunk"?)
